The Chesapeake Oyster Alliance (COA) is a broad coalition of non-profits, community organizations, oyster growers, academic institutions, and business owners with the shared goal of adding 10 billion oysters in the Bay by the year 2025.
While each COA Partner contributes to the expansion of the Bay's oyster population in their own way, as a broad coalition we work together to increase restoration efforts, ensure science-based fishery management, promote innovative oyster research, affect oyster-positive policy at the local, state and federal levels, and support the commercial oyster industry. Our efforts to accelerate oyster recovery efforts support the overall improvement and resiliency of the Chesapeake Bay.
Benefits of partnership include a deep network and press opportunities to promote and share your work, eligibility to apply for the COA Oyster Innovation Grant Program and Restoration Capacity Assistance Fund, attend and present at COA's national Chesapeake Oyster Science Symposium, attend our spring/fall COA Partner meetings, and much more.
We are always recruiting and accepting new members. If you are interested in joining the Alliance, please complete the interest form or contact Tanner Council, Chesapeake Oyster Alliance Manager.
We are excited to announce a new level of partnership to COA known as the Reef Builder Tier. The purpose of this tier is to recognize all the people, businesses, and organizations who are making a positive difference in the Bay's oyster restoration. If you are interested in joining the movement, but don't have the time or resources to become a core partner, then the Reef Builder Tier is for you!
