If you would like to join the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance (COA) in our collaborative effort to restore the health of the national treasure that is Chesapeake Bay, please submit the following information and we will be in touch.
Participation Levels
We have three levels of participation in the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance.
- COA Core Partner: Typically reserved for oyster growers, non-profits, academic institutions, and businesses that focus on oysters year-round and would like to play an active role in the direction of COA.
- COA Reef Builder: Open to organizations, restaurants and other businesses, civic groups, schools, funders, outstanding individuals, and other entities who contribute—or want to contribute—a portion of their time to oyster restoration, education, advocacy, or the promotion of COA goals.
- COA Supporter: Open to all individuals who want to volunteer their time to the Bay's oyster recovery. This may include volunteering at events, advocating for good oyster policy and funding, promoting oyster events and policy, or simply wanting to stay in the loop with Chesapeake Oyster Alliance initiatives. No commitment necessary and all are welcome!
Or become a COA Oyster Advocate: Looking to join the oyster movement from the comfort of your home? Then becoming an Oyster Advocate is right for you. There is so much information to be shared about the movement happening across Maryland and Virginia, and you can help. Oyster Advocates can be from all different walks of life; no prior oyster knowledge is necessary. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook and look out for ways to engage, share, and help spread the news about oysters.
